Biggest global average daily jump yet

I’ve just updated the global graphs here following WHO’s Update 49 (as at 15th Jan). We’ve had a large jump in the three days since they last reported: 6,259 new cases reported – or a daily jump of 2,086. This is 50% more than any previous daily average increase. This graph puts it in perspective (and is also shown, and regularly updated, at the “Global Graphs” link at the top of this blog):
